Dipropylene glycol with low odour is a high-quality grade and its low toxicity and solvent properties make it an ideal additive for perfumes and skin and hair care products.
Thanks to its solvent and carrier properties, Dipropylene glycol is used in cosmetics, especially in perfume making. It sticks to fragrance molecules and helps them to disperse slowly, changing the strength of perfume. More or less dipropylene glycol in a formula means different strength notes.
Dipropylene glycol also helps different essential oils, absolutes and fragrance materials to bind together, giving great control of viscosity.
Suggested Ratios:
Please refer to the IFRA certificate of the fragrance to ensure the correct ratio is not exceeded. These are our suggestions, we strongly suggest adjusting from here depending on desired strength, as always your own testing is required.
Blend the fragrance oil with the DPG until clear. Stir solution slowly and thoroughly until the solution has cleared. Seal container and allow to stand for 2 to 3 days before using.
